Thermal Baths in Bagno Vignoni and San Filippo
In the heart of the Val d’Orcia, a land rich in food and wine products and Unesco Heritage since 2004, south of the Province of Siena on the slopes of Mount Amiata, we find waters that already the Etruscans and then the Romans knew for their healing properties. The first stop is scheduled at Bagno Vignoni with the large rectangular pool where the thermal waters flow and overlook the main monuments including the portico of Santa Caterina and the Church of San Giovanni Battista. A few km a small spa, where sulfurous waters rich in carbonate descend into the valley and form limestone waterfalls in the shade of thick woods: Bagni San Filippo with a unique show, the White Whale or a cascade of thermal water that over the years has created very white and spectacular limestone deposits. Returning to Siena, we will arrive at a winery that produces wine, for a tasting of products and the possibility of buying and shipping.
We will take care of getting you from your accommodation and bring you back at the end with our comfortable minivan. Our drivers are very professional, they are not guides – a licensed person and a special extra price would be required by law – but they will certainly be able to recommend the best restaurants and souvenir shops.
